Miscela Masini has a long history spanning two generations and the experience of a family that has always been devoted to the art of coffee, as well as that of many skilled professionals who have shaped the history of this sector. Today, Miscela Masini is the flagship brand of Essse Caffè, but its success stems from over seventy years of commitment and dedication.
THE CREATION OF THE MASINI BLEND
The Masini Blend was created in 1952, based on an idea by Giampiero Segafredo and crafted by the skilled hands of his roaster, Berto. This fine blend was specially developed and produced to celebrate the opening of two prominent establishments in the centre of Bologna, owned by Mr Masini himself.
ESSSE CAFFÈ REVIVES THE MASINI BLEND
In 1979, almost 30 years later, Francesco Segafredo, Giampiero’s son, had the idea of recreating the Masini Blend for the newly established Essse Caffè. To do so, he contacted Berto once again, a coffee roaster of immense experience and sensitivity who helped him recreate this special blend and introduced him to the secrets that give life to this product of excellence. Once the original Miscela Masini had been recreated, thanks in part to collaboration with the University of Bologna, an exceptional product was achieved, not only for its organoleptic characteristics but also for its consistency over time.

For these reasons, Masini is not just a blend, but a whole world unto itself: a world of absolute quality in the cup, a world of sensory experiences, of image and of enhancing the café. The Masini Blend is a coffee certified as Italian Espresso. Produced using the finest Arabica and Robusta beans, it creates a delicate and aromatic espresso that is, at the same time, full-bodied and chocolatey, with a velvety crema and fruity and floral notes.
The Masini Blend is Essse Caffè’s most iconic, prized and representative blend. With its fascinating history, it represents a benchmark of absolute excellence for our company. In the cup, we find an espresso with distinct aromatic tones, intense yet very refined, with hints evoking sweet notes. On the palate, there is an elegant yet balanced acidity, which evolves into an enveloping finish, with fruity and floral notes. It is an evocative coffee, a delicacy suitable for any time of day, particularly in the morning. It pairs perfectly with cream-filled pastries.
